Wee Sian Kah 

Mr.Wee Sian Kah, courtesy name Yiguo, was from the twelfth district of Nan'an, Fujian. His father was a candle maker. His mother was Mrs. Wu. He had one brother, and he was the elder. At eight years old, he attended village school.

At eleven, he came south to Singapore. He continued his studies at a certain charity school for another three years. Then he went to sea.

For ten years, he worked for a Western company, KPM, as a labor supervisor. From the beginning, he studied English at the Anglo-Chinese School with great effort. At seventeen, he left to work at a certain merchant shop.

Now, after thirty-one years, he has retired and lives at home. Mr. Huang conducts himself with integrity and treats people with courtesy. He is devoted to doing good deeds. He made the largest donation to the fundraising committee during the recent anti-Japanese resistance. He also contributes to education and charity. At sixty-two years old, he remains healthy and active. 

His wives are Ms. Lim, Ms. Tan, and Ms. Lee. Together they have twelve sons and eight daughters: Eng Wah, Eng Kwee, Eng Watt, Eng Chye, Eng Hong, Eng Hian, Eng Kee, Eng Hean, Eng Kim, Eng Kiat,Eng Khiam, Eng Siong,  and daughters Hong Neo, Leng Neo, Siew Neo, Ai Leo, Geok Luan, Geok Eng and Geok Qin. The first six sons are married, and the first three daughters are married. He has twenty-nine grandchildren in total. His family is flourishing and prosperous, rarely seen in the South Seas.

Now his third son Eng Watt and fourth son Eng Chye are able to take over his work. Eng Wah and Eng Xian are doing business in Makassar in the Dutch East Indies. Ronggui runs the Rongmao Fa Company store on Bencoolen Street. Though elderly, Mr. Huang can still lead community organizations. He once served as the general manager of the Seamen's Union for one or two years. He has made many other contributions as well.
