Khoo Kay Chai
This is a half-length portrait of Mr. Khoo Kay Chai, Assistant Lecturer (1964-1975), Acting Principal (Apr 1976-1978) and later the first Singaporean Principal of Singapore Polytechnic from 1 June 1978 to 1995. He was a former student at Gan Eng Seng Primary School and Raffles Institution; Engineer of Public Works Department (1961-1964); Honorary Secretary of Institution of Engineers Singapore (1970-1972); and President of Singapore Concrete Institute (1988-1989). His grandfather was the first General Manager of Oversea-Chinese Banking Corporation Limited and the first Managing Director of United Chinese Bank. His younger brother, Mr. Khoo Kay Chong, is Assistant Superintendent of Police and Head of Technology Crime Research Branch of Singapore Police Force (2003-2007). Title devised by Library staff.
The above information from NLB is not so correct . Khoo Soo Hong is secretary of United Chinese Bank and asst manager of Overseas Chinese Bank when it was founded in 1932

Standing in the front row are Mr Tan Chin Tuan (fourth from left), General Manager Ong Piah Teng (fifth from right) and Assistant Manager Khoo Soo Hong (second from left). The man in the back row at the highest position could be identified as Mr Lim K.C.
