As recorded in Tan Tock Seng genealogy book,  Tan Yong Seng was the 10th son of Tan Swee Guan, who was the eldest son of Tan Oo Long (elder brother of Tan Tock Seng).  It was recorded in the zupu that he was born 13th year of Tongzhi Reign First Moon 2nd day ie 1874.  This correspond to the age inscribed in the tomb and the tomb record

Tan Yong Seng passed away at his residence at No 1384 Upper Serangoon Road (5 1/2 ms) on Apr 9 1930 at 7.30 am leaving a widow, 5 sons, 6 daughters, 3 sons in law and 1 daughter in law and was buried in Bukit Brown

Auction sale of 
The absolute reversion of the defendant Tan Boon Chin in the estate of Tan Yong Seng deceased 


As the eldest son, Tan Boon Chin would likely get a major share of Tan Yong Seng's  estate, but his interest in the estate, in fact the absolute reversion of it is being auction off by the courts to pay the plaintiff Henry Waugh n Co, a British Trading Co.

Ee Chew Seng, the oldest son of Ee Kimg Gan and the adopted son of Chin Chye Fong was engaged to Tan Chew Neo, the fourth daughter of Mrs Tan Yong Seng and the late Tan Yong Seng


Both Mrs Ee Kim Guan and Mrs Chin Chye Fong were the daughters of Hoe Eng Watt 
Mrs Hoe Eng Watt was the sister of Koh Hoon Teck, a  baba poet, musician and publisher
