According to Chew Boon Lay, A Family Traces Its History (A Family Album) compiled by Ong Chwee Im
Both Chew Hock Chye and his wife died early. Chew Hock Chye died in 1921. while his wife Seow Khan Neo died in 1925 at the age of 35.
Their children were Jenny Chew Eng Neo, Percy Chew Chin Bee and Chew Chin Teck,
Chew Chin Teck was taken away by the Japanese during the war and never seen again.

Chew Boon Lay named a laterite road in Jurong after his grandson Chin Bee, and so later the roads around that area became Chin Bee Road, Chin Bee Drive, Chin Bee Crescent, Chin Bee Avenue..
