Biography
Mr Tan Joo Khoon was for many years the chief clerk of the Master Attendant's office. he was in government service for some 26 years and well known in shipping circles. He had a wide circle of friends and very popular with every member of the Government Marine Department. He has two wives Ng Joo Tian and Lee Kah Lan.
Ng Joo Tian was buried next to him.
On Jan 9, 1915, a daughter was born to Mr and Mrs Tan Joo Khoon
He passed away on Jul 31, 1926, at the age of 44 years, at No 393 Beach Road of heart failure after a bathing party at Changi.
His funeral at Bukit Brown on Aug 6 (Sunday) was attended by

Mr E Galistan, Marine Department Engineer
Mr T H Eber (Shipping Master)

and the entire staff of the marine department.
On 2nd Dec 1927, at the AGM of the Singapore Family Benefit Society held at the Memorial Hall Singapore, of whom Dr H T Wee was President, Dr C J Paglar was Vice President, the sum of $500 was paid to Mrs Tan Joo Khoon, nominee of the late Mr Tan Joo Khoon from the Reserve Fund in view of the special circumstances of the case
On 30 Apr 1960 , Mdm Ng Joo Tian, first wife of Tan Joo Khoon died at the age of 72 years.

Dr Tan Ah Chua was president of Singapore Dental Association for 1971 -72, he waa also Deputy Chairman of PUB before he died of a heart attack at age 53 in 1972
On Mar 10, 1949, there was a wedding reception of Mr and Mrs Tan Ah Chua at Robinson Cafe.
Tan Ah Chua, a dential surgeon was the son of Mrs Tan Joo Khoon whereas the bride was Lily Ong, daughter of Mr and Mrs Ong Hong Keat of Singapaore
