Song Tiong Cheng
宋忠清
Song Tiong Cheng (宋忠清) was a successful biscuit manufacturer in colonial Singapore who operated Chop Cheong Huat (昌發號) biscuit factory at 95-96 Neil Road. His first wife, Sze Theng Neo, tragically died in a stove fire incident at 51 Craig Road, though their daughter survived. Song Tiong Cheng died on 21 April 1927, leaving behind several sons including Song Kim Cheng, Song Kim Pui, Song Kim Hoe, Song Kim Soon, and Song Kim Guan. Following his death, probate of his will was granted to his son Song Kim Cheng and Tan Soo Beng, who was described in court as the uncle of Song Kim Cheng's children. His estate later became the subject of legal disputes among family members in the 1930s.
