The wedding took place on Saturday before the Registrar of Mr Teh Say Koo, chartered accountant, son of Teh Thean Ee, of Penang and Miss Ena Guat Khen Lim, daughter of Dr and Mrs Lim Boon Keng from China.
The brides' father Dr Lim Boon Keng, gave her away and C C Tan was the best man. The day was the bride's mother's birthday
A reception was held at the Garden Club after the ceremony and was attended by a large number of guests including many prominent members of the Chinese community. Among those present were Mr A B Jordan, Mr Tan Kah Kee, Dr and Mrs Lim Han Hoe, Dr Chen Su Lan, Mr and Mrs Tay Lian Teck, Mr Cheong Koon Seng and Mr Yap Twee
In proposing the health of the married couple, Mr Seow Poh Leng recalled that while Dr Lim Boon Keng was the first student to win a similar distinction following the resuscitation of the scholarships which was mainly due to the efforts of Dr Lim Boon Keng when he sat on the Legislative Council of the Colony, other speeches appropriate to the occason followed
