碑文	Transcription / Meaning
孔子民國十八年己巳仲秋立	Date: the jisi 己巳 year of Republic year 18, mid-autumn (仲秋, the 8th lunar month), which is 1929. The lunar 8th month of that year ran from 3 September to 2 October 1929 (computed with a lunar calendar library). 立 means the stone was set up. The opening 孔子 introduces a Confucian-era year count; the small characters beside it are too worn to read in the photograph.
黃門佘琼花娘	Name of the deceased: 黃門 (of the Wee family) 佘 (her own surname, Seah) 琼花娘 (given name, Keng Hua Neo).
孝男 黃和丹 黃和源	Filial sons 黃和丹 and 黃和源.
孝女 撫娘	Filial daughter 撫娘.
外孫 陳恭林	Maternal grandson (daughter's son) 陳恭林, who carries the surname Tan 陳.
仝立	"Erected jointly": the children and grandson set up the stone together.
木本水源	"A tree has its roots and water its source": a saying about remembering one's origins.
