SACRED TO THE MEMORY OF THE
COMMANDER, OFFICERS, AND SHIP'S COMPANY
OF THE HONBLE EAST INDIA COMPANY'S STEAM FRIGATE 'CLEOPATRA'
WHICH IS SUPPOSED TO HAVE FOUNDERED IN A HURRICANE OFF THE COAST OF MALABAR,
ON THE 15TH DAY OF APRIL 1847

Cleopatra was on the way to Singapore carrying 100 Indian convicts bound for Singapore.
