A marriage has been arranged between Tan Cheng Yong, the eldest son of Tan Hap Leong and Miss
Lau Lan Neo, the second daughter of Mr and Mrs Lau Koon Siew. The ceremony will probably take place in the beginning of October.

On September 10, 1928, at her residence No 522 Kampong Bahru Road
beloved wife of Tan Cheng Yong. She leaves behind a widower, an aged mother and a brother.,
Dr Lao Chew Seng (Lau Chew Seng) of Kampar and 6 children to mourn her loss. Funeral on Wednesday Sep 12
at 10 am at Bukit Brown Cemetery. (F.M.S papers please copy)

4 months later,  Tan Cheng Yong married again, this time to the daughter of Mr E Kong Siang.
E Kong Siang was described as a retired merchant of Malacca in 1911 and was a friend of Gaw Boon Chan
