Tan Tock Seng’s well

We are pleased to note that the two wells intended for public convenience at the foot of the government building fronting High Street are now in progress. The cost of one of the wells has been undertaken by James Stephens Esq., the other by Tan Tock Sing Esq. We have seen the plan of the erection; when carried out, it will prove to be an ornament to that part of the town. The wells will be enclosed with posts and chains, and the water will be accessible to all.

The two wells can bee seen here at the foot of the government building fronting High Street.
