In Loving Memorium Of the Late Mr Chua Kong Wee Died 12th May 1917

It is with regret that we have to announce the death of Mr Chua Kong Wee, brother of Mr Chua Lye Keat of Messrs Boustead and Company, which took place at Batu Pahat on May 12. The remains of the deceased were brought to Singapore in the coffin by the Hong Wan II this mornng, being landed at Beach Road at about 11 o'clock thence it was borne to Tua Payoh Cemetery for internment. Mr Chua Lye Keat tenders his thanks to those relatives and friends who attended the funeral

Tan Cheng Tuan’s Father

Likely to be Tan Kim Swee , Father of Tan Cheng Tuan. Tan Cheng Tuan (the Muncipal Commissoner) was a director of China Mutual Life Insurance Co when he died in 1902 and a SVI volunteer. From other sources, (see below) Tan Cheng Joo was an agent of China Mutual Life Insurance Co in 1910 and Tan Cheng Yong was a SVI volunteer in 1904

All three names, Cheng Tuan, Cheng Joo and Cheng Yong was mentioned in the tomb.
